Eight X 88 Virtual Concert Tonight!

Jazz Foundation of America presents “Eight x 88 Virtual Concert” TONIGHT, Thursday, February 4 at 6 pm MST and 8 pm EST. Recorded at the beautiful Steinway Hall in New York, Eight x 88 was conceptualized by Fred Hersch, Aaron Goldberg, and Kevin Hays to benefit the Jazz Foundations’ COVID-19 MUSICIANS’ EMERGENCY FUND, established last April to provide direct and urgent financial assistance to jazz, blues and roots musicians (and their families) in need.

Eight acclaimed jazz pianists — Kris Davis, Aaron Diehl, Orrin Evans, Sullivan Fortner, Aaron Goldberg, Kevin Hays, Fred Hersch, and Christian Sands perform solos and duets.

Appropriately titled Eight x 88, these eight jazz pianists uniquely interpret an eclectic mix of songs ranging from Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Stevie Wonder, Frank Loesser, and others, in both solo and duo performances. more>>
