Eats & Beats: Spirit Hound Distillers

The Morning Set took a trip out to Lyons, CO to try a local favorite in all things spirits. Spirit Hound Distillers has not only gained local recognition as recipients of the Best of Boulder’s Distillery of the Year 8 years running, but they have made waves internationally – their most prestigious award thus far being Whisky of the Year at the 2022 London Spirits Competition. Craig Engelhorn, Head Distiller and Co-Founder of Spirit Hound Distillers spoke with us about the Distillery’s beginnings and awards their spirits have gained worldwide. Bartender Sarah Current guided us through a tasting of their whiskeys and spirits.

They have just embarked on the next leg of their adventure – opening a Denver location. Their new Denver spot opened recently is called the Spirit Hound Distillers Highlands Tasting Room, located at 3622 Tejon St, Denver, CO 80211. While the spirits are not brewed on-site, their full drink menu is now available for tastings in Metro Denver.
