Doors Open Denver: 10th year to take a close look

Doors Open Denver, in its 10th year, is billed as the annual celebration of Denver’s built environment and design.  This year’s event chairman Brit Probst visited “First Take with Lando and Chavis” with the details and some highlights.

“We’ve got a lot going on in Denver, with renovations and brand new buildings,” said Probst, a Denver architect.  ”We have great buildings in 12 different neighborhoods this year.”  The event features walking tours and some expert guided tours, some of which require tickets.

Highlights for Steve and Carlos: the Mayan art deco theatre (which avoided demolition a few years ago), Denver’s Crime Laboratory, the Daniels & fisher Tower (pictured), DIA’s hotel and transit center (under construction – hard hats provided), and Riverside Cemetery.
