Tune in to La Raza Rocks on Sunday, October 13 at 1 p.m. when host Pocho Joe interviews Cota the Barber and plays some fantastic music!

Cota is a talented vocalist and guitarist who is part of a group of talented Chicano vocalists resurrecting the Chicano Soul sound.

Chicano Soul was at its height in the mid-1960s with East L.A. groups such as Thee Midniters, Cannibal & the Headhunters, the Blendells, and the Premiers.

These groups used the rhythm and blues genre to make it cruising music and late night’s last song of the party. Several record companies have tapped into this resurgence, including Danny Trejo’s (the actor) record company.

“Cota is what I would call an impressive-looking man with an angelic voice.” —Pocho Joe
