Our Community Connection guest is Risë Jones of Tealee’s Tea House & Bookstore, which is in the heart of Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood.

Risë will join Tree King during the 11 o’clock hour to chat about the Tea House, reading to the children, and the community.

Tealee’s Tea House – let’s say they move to the rhythm of tea. It’s becoming a gathering place for locals wanting to preserve Denver’s rich black history and customs. It is a place for conversation and engagement while enjoying its relaxing Afro-centric atmosphere. Complete with a bookstore.

On the last Saturday of the month, Brother Shabazz reads to the children and does Tai from 10 to 11 a.m.

“This has always been my community from Five Points all the way up to Park Hill … I wanted a business in the neighborhood where I was raised.” — Risë Jones
