The Colorado Black Arts Festival returns this weekend, July 12-14, at Denver City Park West! Back for its 38th year, the CBAF began in 1986 when a small group of artists and art lovers saw a lack of opportunity for Black artists in Denver. It has become a celebration of cultural beauty through creativity and expression in the Black community. With a mission to “develop, promote and celebrate Black arts and culture in Colorado,” the festival is working to build community awareness and support Black culture and its value to society. With four different stages, various pavilions, a parade, and multiple vendors, there will be something for everyone.

Listen to CBAF executive director Jaleesa Mcintosh talk more about the festival in this interview with The Morning Set on 89.3 KUVO Jazz. Find details on the festival website at colbaf.org or on its Instagram and Facebook pages.
