Christian McBride
Christian McBride is an eight-time GRAMMY Award-winning bassist, composer, and bandleader, as well as host of NPR’s “Jazz Night in America.” From jazz to R&B, pop/rock, hip-hop/neo-soul, to classical, he is a luminary with one hand ever reaching for new heights, and the other extended in fellowship—and perhaps the hint of a challenge—inviting us to join him.
In March, Lone Tree Arts Center presented Christian McBride as part of their Lone Tree Sessions. For this show, he was joined by four rising young master instrumentalists including saxophonist Nicole Glover, guitarist Ely Perlman, pianist Mike King, and drummer Savannah Harris, and delivered an extraordinary experience.
Christian McBride stopped by KUVO to talk with Program Director Shane German about his incredible career and his latest album with celebrated bassist Edgar Meyer called “But Who’s Gonna Play the Melody?” McBride also talks about his longtime collaboration with Jazz Aspen Snowmass JAS Academy as their Artistic Director.
