CCJA BeBop Police stream on KUVO’s YouTube, Twitch channels
KUVO’s High School and Collegiate Series features a stream from the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (CCJA) “BeBop Police,” on KUVO’s YouTube and Twitch channels, released Tuesday, August 20.
Captured at KUVO studios last December on Colorado Gives Day, the BeBop Police is one of the premiere high school ensembles of the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (CCJA), a unique non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth to creatively express themselves through the language of jazz. These talented young musicians come together from all over the Denver Metro area.
The CCJA BeBop Police are:
- Eli Mercado, trumpet (Denver School of the Arts)
- Elise Luzietti, alto sax (Littleton HS)
- Isabella Sandvall, tenor sax (Cherry Creek HS)
- Sam Field, bari sax (Chatfield HS)
- Charlie Rueschhoff, trombone (Lakewood HS)
- Elias Haberberger, vibes (Denver School of the Arts)
- Luca Dardanis, piano (Denver School of the Arts)
- Aesop Pelta-Tiller, bass (Denver School of the Arts)
- Patrick Hurley, drums (Denver School of the Arts)
Noted bassist Gonzalo Teppa directs the CCJA BeBop Police. He’s a two-time Latin Grammy nominee for work on the recordings by Linda Briceño and Luisito Quintero, and he was named “Best Jazz Soloist” by Downbeat Magazine (2004, 2005, 2006) and at the Greeley Jazz Festival (2004, 2005). His performance credits include Wynton Marsalis, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Chris Potter, Tom Harrell, Ron Miles, Art Lande, Slide Hampton, Don Byron, Jeremy Pelt, and others. Teppa also lead three CD projects.
