Cancion Mexicana began its musical journey on August 29, 1985, when KUVO went on the air for the first time. Mercedes Hernandez, the Program Director at the time, created Canción Mexicana in Spanish with native Spanish speakers as hosts.
Although the format has changed over the years, Canción Mexicana continues to carry on the tradition. Our listeners love listening to Spanish language music on Sunday mornings while making breakfast and visiting with friends and family.
