Beloved Jazz Host Bob Parlocha Passes Unexpectedly
Bob Parlocha, host of WFMT Radio Network’s Jazz with Bob Parlocha since its inception in 1995, passed away unexpectedly March 15, 2015. Bob died of a heart attack at the age of 76, he had been rehabilitating from an illness over the past year.
In addition to hosting his popular radio program – broadcast by KUVO and other stations across the United States – Bob was a tenor and soprano saxophone player, host of the Dinner Jazz Show on KJAZ and later the station’s music director. Bob was also a passionate gourmet cook.
Jazz fans and stations across the nation will miss Bob’s presence immensely.
Moving forward, Jazz with Bob Parlocha will blend new voices with Bob’s archives.
If you have any reflections about Bob’s presence on our station, we will be glad to collect those and share them with Bob’s family. Leave your reflection in a comment below or on WFMT’s website here.
