An evening with three of the best student bands in Denver! DownBeat Award (2014) winning Azucartones, the Kent Denver Jazz Combo (directed by Steve Holley), & the DSA Jazz Combo I (Directed by Dave Hammond).

The Azucartones were recognized by DownBeat magazine as the best high school Latin band in the country in 2015 and plays dozens of gigs in and out of Denver each year – all the while with the average age of the members being 16! With performances in New Orleans, Memphis, New York, San Diego, Miami, and the Festival del Tambor in 2014 in Havana, Cuba, the band sounds well beyond their years! They have performed and/or recorded with dozens of Grammy Award winning musicians including Ruben Alvarez, Javon Jackson (Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers), and Tom “Bones” Malone, among others.
