Alzheimer’s Learning Day | Sep 21
Every 66 seconds someone in the U.S. develops Alzheimer’s disease. The already vast number of individuals living with the disease is expected to more than triple – from 5 million today to more than 16 million by 2050. With this, so too, will the number of family members and friends who will help support their care needs.
Currently, more than 15 million Americans provide unpaid care for those living with Alzheimer’s/dementia. These caregivers often feel isolated, unsure of how others will act, and looking for support in their local communities.
To help the Denver community better understand what they can do to help those living with the disease and their caregivers, Home Instead Senior Care serving Denver is launching Alzheimer’s Learning Day in honor of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. On Thursday, Sept. 21, the Home Instead network will host educational webinars with tips and resources to help people better understand the behaviors associated with the disease.
