African American Artists at North Wing Gallery
North Wing Gallery is pleased to announce the first exhibition of 2020, African American Artists – featuring the work of Emeka Dragonfly, Michael Gadlin and Rochelle Johnson. The works will be displayed in the lobby of the North Wing Gallery, now until April 6. The exhibition is free and open to the public; hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
The exhibition focuses on the human figure in both abstract and realistic expression. Each artist was born and raised in Denver and although studies and work took them to other cities, they returned home to pursue their passion. Emeka Dragonfly presents skilled studies of the human figure as well as lush landscapes. Michael Gadlin layers color and line in abstracting the human essence and Rochelle Johnson’s work are narrative of the figure in society.
