A Tribute to Females of Jazz|Women’s History Month Special

From the early contributions of Bessie Smith, Lil’ Hardin-Armstrong through Mary Lou Williams, Melba Liston and to present day musicians such as Ingrid Jensen and Tia Fuller, women have left their mark on Jazz. In celebration of  Women’s History Month, Matthew Goldwasser, sitting in for a vacationing Ed Danielson-Saturday Jazz (2-4pm) will devote the show to the women in jazz. Big Bands, small groups, great soloists and arrangers, old and new, and even a few of the proverbial “chick singers.’ Tune in and enjoy what these great women have created.
