Two great Colorado-based groups will take to the airwaves live this Tuesday, beginning with the Ron Miles Quartet at 2:00 on Take Note! with Susan Gatschet Reese.  Ron’s is one of several top-notch groups performing at this weekend’s Jazz on 2nd Ave Festival in Niwot, CO.  Trumpeter Miles will be joined by pianist Eric Gunnison, bassist Kent McLagen and drummer Alwyn Robinson.  Then we’ll strike the set and get ourselves ready for something caliente at 6:00 with Ritmo Jazz Latino.  Led by trumpeter Dr. Walter Barr, this seven piece band brings the heat to the Crossroads Theater in Five Points on Friday August, 15th, where they’ll perform for the 1st Note Foundation’s Instrument Drive.  Members of KUVO’s Studio Club are encouraged to come down, dig some sounds and and make the hang this Tuesday afternoon!
