A conversation with Herbie Hancock

KUVO’s Steve Chavis caught Herbie via phone a few days ago for a wide-ranging conversation.  They talked about the tour with Kamasi Washington (and others), the role of young players on tour and the jazz tradition of mentoring, Hancock’s next release (“It’s imminent,” says Hancock), genre-busting, International Jazz Day, and the role of music in healing our troubled planet.
