Herb’s Bar Celebrates its 90th Anniversary With a 1930s Inspired Birthday Party

On Sunday May 7th, 2023, Herb’s Bar celebrates it’s 90th anniversary. They are planning a huge celebration at their location, 2057 Larimer Street, with food catered by Max’s Delicatessen, 1930s themed cocktails. and two bands: the Gabe Mervine Quintet and Funkiphino.

I spoke with co-owners and musicians Laura Newman and Cherie DuFour to learn more about the history of this beloved, live-music staple nestled in the heart of Denver’s Famous Lodo Scene.
