Kat Ellis is an authentic and accessible jazz musician. Her gift of expression and storytelling using her emotive voice lets her cover tunes ranging from reflective to torchy, witty to sorrowful. She is working with some of her mentors on material that goes beyond jazz jam culture but is certainly part of the book of works of the last 75 years, drawing from bebop, Latin, modern and classic jazz libraries. We will explore unusual forms, meaningful stories, and interesting melodies.
