Flamenco is an art form native to the region of Andalucía in southern Spain. It integrates dance, singing, guitar music and the rhythm of percussion (mostly palmas and cajón). It was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in November 2010 and in recent years is giving way to a rich intermingling with other types of dance, as well as physical and theatrical expression, without losing the strength, magic and beauty of traditional flamenco. Since 2010, StudiOlé Flamenco Dance Company has been delving deeper into the flamenco language, creating performances that blend traditional flamenco, contemporary dance, and theater. After debuting the show Candela last year, the company brings its newest production to the stage: Memorias. Come to Muse for a lovely afternoon of flamenco dancing and live music.
