Pocho Joe Celebrates 20 Years on La Raza Rocks

La Raza Rocks is “the” place on your radio dial to hear Latino rock-based music from Sunny & the Sunliners, Santana, Los Lobos, The Iguanas, Los Lonely Boys, and Dr. Loco and his Rockin’ Jalapeno Band to mention a few. You’ll also hear progressive music from Ozomatli, Quetzal, Alejandro Escovedo, the Blazers, and many more groups.

Pocho Joe has been your on-air host for 20 years of the program’s 21-year history. Every Sunday he covers the “roots & branches of Chicano and Latino Rock. In just one hour he manages to entertain, educate and intrigue with his stories behind the songs that made Chicano rock, pop, and soul famous.

In 2018 he was inducted into Su Teatro’s Chicano Music Hall of Fame and in 2021, Westword magazine named Pocho “Denver’s Best Radio Host.”
