Capitol Hill Concerts presents jazz pianist Peter Stoltzman.
Spiraling Inward is a project of soaring, hopeful, and deeply introspective original music by pianist Peter Stoltzman, bassist Gonzalo Teppa, and drummer Dru Heller. They will be joined by a very special guest, 4-time Grammy nominee, saxophonist Remy LeBeouf.
The album, Spiraling Inward, is like a collection of memoirs; several pieces pay tribute (to a mentor, to a mother, to a country left behind in search of happy childhoods), while others delve deep into emotional themes such as Noble Intentions, Soul of the Matter, and the title track Spiraling Inward. This evening promises to be a confluence of world-class musicianship, inspired composition, and expressive improvisation amongst the ensemble.
As the son of Grammy-winning clarinet legend, Richard Stoltzman, and renowned violinist and educator, Lucy Chapman, jazz pianist and educator Peter John Stoltzman naturally grew into a career as both a performer and teacher. Stoltzman has performed and recorded with jazz luminaries such as Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez, Allison Miller, Ron Westray, Yosvanny Terry, Tia Fuller, and many more.
A portion of the proceeds from this concert will benefit Colorado Music Bridge. This organization is dedicated to implementing a holistic model of modern music education through programs that bridge access to diverse youth, provide economic opportunities for teaching artists, and support community resiliency. Colorado Music Bridge provides access to inclusive modern music education, mentorship, professional development, and creative content.
Tickets are available online; $20/GA — $10/Students
