Norman Provizer’s Jazz Notes

On Wednesday, June 8, the Ben Markley Big Band is at Dazzle driven by the strong drummer Ari Hoenig. Markley & Hoenig have joined forces on the new disc “Ari’s Funhouse.”

Also on Wednesday, the Boulder Theater offers Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan and his trio at 8 p.m.

Then on Friday, June 10, trumpeter Keyon Harrold takes over the stage at Dazzle at 9 p.m.

Along with this, Nocturne begins another month of its residency program with a focus on great players and composers Charlie Haden and Kenny Barron. Check out the full Nocturne calendar.
