Bill Charlap Trio: “Street Of Dreams”
Pianist Bill Charlap returns to Blue Note with Street of Dreams, a stunning new album featuring his revered longstanding trio with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington. Street of Dreams is a celebration of New York City as it emerges from an unprecedentedly challenging period, as reflected in the eight impeccably curated songs on the album, a delightful mix of jazz classics and Songbook favorites. Charlap and the 2 Wahingtons-no relation- have been a working trio for over 25 years and their seamless playing reflects that bond!

Oscar Peterson Quartet: ” A Time for Love-Live in Helsinki, 1987″
What a joy it is to receive a previously unreleased live concert by the master pianist, Oscar Peterson at his zenith! At the end of a 3 week tours that began in Brazil and ended in Finland this 2-disc set features an amazing display of Mr. Peterson’s prowess at the piano. He’s accompanied by the brilliant Joe pass-guitar, Dave Young-bass and Martin Drew-drums. Thanks to the Finnish Broadcasting Company who recorded this performance on the cold night of November 17, 1987 and has now with the permission of the Peterson estate remastered this jewel and has issued it as a joint effort by Oscar’s own Two Lions and Mack Avenue Productions.

Jim Knapp Orchestra: “It’s not business, it’s personal”
Trumpeter-compose-arranger Jim Knapp is very well known and held in high esteem in Seattle, WA and Pacific Northwest. He and a band of the Emerald City’s best musicians have recorded a swingin’ album of Knapp originals full of unusual colors and textures that will captivate listeners from the downbeat to the coda of each song. There are many fine players in this ensemble including the multi-instrumentalist Jay Thomas who is an excellent trumpeter and reeds player, Matt Jorgensen whose wife is from Colorado is the the drum seat and for good measure the band features a French horn and a bass trombone.
