Thank you for helping us make the Summer Pledge Drive a Success!
Thank you so much for helping us bring you jazz, and the lineup of locally produced programs every weekend. We can do this because you always come through for us. You helped us raise over $37,000 in 5 days. You renewed your support to KUVO! Rejoined the family of supporters – we are so happy to have you back.
We would like to welcome all of the new members, and our heartfelt thanks goes to the current members of the family who gave an additional gift. Cheers to all who became Jazz Messengers, sustaining members of the family. A BIG thank you to all who joined us outside of Colorado; we heard from North Carolina, a number of you called from New York, Florida, Kansas, Michigan, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Maine, Wyoming, South Carolina, Illinois, Georgia, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and California. We received a ton of love from our friends across Colorado! How can we thank all of you! We hope it’s by playing some great songs for you to enjoy.
While the summer pledge drive is over – it’s never too late to be part of the family.
When a great tune comes on the radio, it’s the perfect time to get outside and break into some moves. We’ve been hearing lots of songs about summer and lots of stories about these songs. As we look back on the summer playlist, we want to thank you for your votes, for listening, and for becoming members of the KUVO family. We always enjoy having you on the journey with us.
Will a song remind you of getting together with friends and family? We hope you’ll enjoy the summertime vibe on KUVO.
Sun is Shining by Bob Marley, a song that radiates an atmosphere of heat with its hypnotic rhythm was given a makeover in 1999 with a remix from Funkstar de Luxe that went to the top of the US dance charts and gave the song an entirely different vibe and, in the process, invented reggae fusion. This is what we love about hearing from so many of you, we can count on going on a musical journey when you tune in!
Summer In The City by Oscar Brown Jr., was composed in 1967 in Chicago with his wife singer and dancer Jean Pace. That year they developed three musicals titled “Summer in the City,” “Lyrics of Sunshine,” and “Opportunity Please Knock,” Their work resulted in being invited to a 1968 Indiana. Significant for them as they were introduced to The Jackson Five!
Thank you for joining us! Be sure to tune in tomorrow, Friday, June 26, for the kickoff of our 2020 Summer Playlist!
