On Stage: Producer’s Picks

This Sunday, September 29, at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features highlights from all five seasons.  We call it “Producer’s Picks!”

Susan Gatschet has been producing and hosting “On Stage since it debuted in July 2017.  We’ve had some great performances from more than 20 years of archives in the KUVO vaults – from artists no longer with us like Dave Valentin and Henry Butler, to up-and-coming artists we first recognized in our “30 Under 30” series.  Now those young players are leading their own bands and charting the course for tomorrow’s jazz.  That’s who’s on the show.

A humble storage area at the end of a hallway was redecorated and equipped with microphones, cables and broadcast gear back in 1996, and the space was christened the “Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio,” in honor of a dear, departed patron of the jazz arts.  That’s where it happens, mostly.
