New Music from Javon Jackson

Tune in Monday at noon when Arturo Gomez presents New Music Monday. Our first New Music Monday for March starts off with hometown hero, Javon Jackson’s latest offering,  “Expression-Live at Smoke Jazz Club, NYC”

The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra of the University of Miami features Denver’s own Dave Grusin, along with Chick Corea, Bobby McFerrin and Terence Blanchard; thier new release is “Jazz & the Philharmonic”

During his final tour that took place in 2004, David “Fathead” Newman played the Cellar Jazz Club in Vancouver, B.C.,  accompanied by the Tilden Webb Trio.  This previously unreleased concert is titled “Cellar Groove.”

Just in time for Mardi Gras is saxophonist Craig Handy’s  newest CD, “2nd Line Smith”,  capturing the flavor of NOLA.
