The importance of “place” – developing Denver forum

Confluence Denver holds its first community forum this Thursday on the importance of “place” in Denver’s quality of life.   Publisher of the online magazine www.confluence-denver.com Brian Boyle joined First Take to highlight the key questions facing citizens of Denver.

The panel of architects, developers and moderator Tami Door of the Downtown Denver Partnership are part of the public gathering on Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the University of Colorado – Denver Lawrence Street Center, 1380 Lawrence, Denver.

“In our nine years of reporting on how neighborhoods and places (in 22 cities nationwide) are changing, it’s fascinating how impactful small projects can be,” said Boyle.  “Community development paradigms are shifting from ‘I need $2 million from the government to get a project done,’ to ‘we can do small-scale creative projects that have a bigger impact.'”

Community priorities, planning and gentrification are among the topics up for discussion.  Boyle said he expects the free event to fill up.  Details and the link to RSVP are at posted here.
