KUVO Welcomes Dianne Reeves & Quartet for Live at the Vineyards 2015

Five-time Grammy winner Dianne Reeves and her quartet will headline Live at the Vineyards 2015  August 8! 

A Denver native, Reeves is renowned worldwide as a preeminent jazz vocalist due to her breathtaking virtuosity, improvisational prowess, and unique jazz stylings.

She received the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance for three consecutive recordings, a Grammy first in any vocal category. 

Reeves has recorded and performed with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. She recorded with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, was the first Creative Chair for Jazz for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the first singer to ever perform at the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall.
 

Her quartet features: 

  • John Beasley - A Grammy-nominated pianist, composer and arranger, Beasley’s career spans three decades. He has worked with many major jazz, pop and world artists including Freddie Hubbard and Miles Davis. Born in Louisiana, the cradle of jazz, Beasley has been writing arrangements since he was in junior high school.

     

  • Romero Lubambo - In 1985, Lubambo brought a new sound of Brazilian jazz guitar to the United States. Romero’s guitar playing unites the styles and rhythms of his native Brazilian musical heritage with his fluency in the American jazz tradition to form a distinctive new sound. An uncommonly gifted soloist and musical improviser, Lubambo provides a steady stream of unpredictably creative musical thoughts and the virtuosity to deliver them.

     

  • Reginald Veal – A bassist, Veal has performed with Wynton Marsalis and Robert Leslie Hurst III. 

     

  • Terreon Gully - A sensitive, colorful and innovative drummer, Gully mixes textures and tones, beats and cymbals to produce breathtaking colors and images.  A diverse musician, Gully has mastered funk, fusion, Afro-Cuban, big band, rhythm and blues, gospel and more. As a student, he was selected to be part of the world renown Lincoln Senior High School Jazz Ensemble.
