Ed Battle at Dazzle | Oct. 11
Battle was born into a family of singers in New Jersey. He was encouraged to sing in church and in the jazz-rich Philadelphia community by many of the jazz musicians of his time.
In the sixties, Battle discovered theatre – training and touring in Jim Mapp’s ‘‘Playward Bus Company.” Battle moved to Denver in the seventies, and worked for many years with The Horace Henderson Combo.
A featured vocalist at the world famous El Chapultepec for 12 years, Battle also appeared in many plays and musicals. He toured with area theatres such as Bonfils Theatre, Cleo Parker Robinson, The Eulipions Ensemble, and Shadow Theatre.
Battle has received numerous awards and recognition for his contributions and commitment to the cultural community of Colorado.
