Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Denver Jazz Fest next April, held at venues scattered around the Front Range and featuring some top names in jazz, like Cuban pianist Omar Sosa, Charles McPherson, and Terell Stafford together, Ghost-Note, Garaj Mahal, Joe Lovano, Isaiah Coleman, and local favorites with national following Dianne Reeves, Bill Frisell and Rico Jones.

We go across the pond for another jazz festival story. The EFG London Jazz Festival runs from 15 November through 24 November in the artsy Southbank Centre district. Dianne Reeves performs this Saturday night with one of her proteges Song Yi Jeon and her nonet. Next week, Billy Cobham celebrates his 80th birthday with the full BBC Concert Orchestra. The Latin Grammy Awards are this Thursday, November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami. In the Latin Jazz category, the nominees are Hamilton De Holanda and Gonzalo Rubalcaba’s Collab, Ivan Lins’ My Heart Speaks, Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo, the duet album with Miguel Zenon and Luis Perdomo, and Sammy Figueroa’s tribute to his father, Searching For A Memory (Busco Tu Recuerdo).
