Friday on Behind the Mic, Dele Johnson joined Carlos Lando and Abi Clark on The Morning Set. Dele is the longtime host of the Thursday Night Jazz Odyssey 10 p.m. – midnight and creator of the Global Soul Lounge, Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to midnight.

Dele joined the KUVO radio team in 2018. His music pallet stretches across space and time – Afrobeat pioneers like Fela Kuti, exemplary soulful funk bands like Earth, Wind, and Fire, and classic hip-hop groups like The Roots just to name a few. Weekly he brings a myriad of new school Jazz, Funk, Soul, R’n’B, and Electronic artists.

Born and raised in Colorado, Dele Johnson’s Nigerian roots shine through in his music curation. About 8 months ago, he debuted his Saturday night Afro-beat show Global Soul Lounge which explores more deeply, the rhythmic pulse of Afrobeat, Ethno-Jazz, Dub, Reggae, Habibi Funk, and more, transporting listeners to the heart of the continent and beyond, showcasing the dynamic evolution of Afro-inspired music.
