Celebrating the “Queen of Salsa” Celia Cruz on Salsa Con Jazz
Sunday’s Salsa con Jazz will feature an in-depth birthday salute to Celia Cruz. From her beginnings in Cuba to her arrival in New York where she was crowned the “Queen of Salsa, we’ll play music by her to honor her becoming the first Afro-Latina to have her image on a US coin.
In addition, we’ll continue playing music from this year’s Latin Grammy® nominees, new releases, and a few other birthday celebrants.
