Brazil Fest!
The evening opens with Dexter Payne Quintet & Guests playing lively instrumental choro and forró tunes, perfectly setting the mood for an energetic night of dance. As the evening progresses, immerse yourself in the vibrant rhythms of Brazil’s northeast with a second set of forró, xote, arrastapé, and baião songs.

Featuring– Dexter Payne (Clarinet), Bill Kopper (6 & 7 string guitar), Raoul Rossiter (Drums & percussion), Dave Wiley (Accordion), and Victor Mestas (piano). The second set will feature special guests– Francisco Marques (Vocals, guitar, cavaco), Carl Dixon (percussion), Greg LaLiberte (flute/sax)

Born in the sertão, the arid interior of the region, Forró was formed by the many traditions, cultures, and musical styles of the Northeast. Forró is danced by couples locked in a sensual embrace with three main rhythms: baiao, xote, and arrastape.
