The Annie Booth Trio (Booth – piano, Patrick McDevitt – bass, Alejandro Castaño – drums) has performed together for 15 years – embodying a level of expression, dynamism, and collaboration that only comes from so many years of deep musical partnership.
Annie Booth is a versatile and award-winning composer, arranger, and jazz pianist. She has received international recognition for her work as a composer with awards and grants from the likes of Chamber Music America, ASCAP, Downbeat Magazine, and many others. As a bandleader, Booth has released six albums and her most recent release is her 2023 otherworldly chamber jazz album, Flowers of Evil: The Poetry of Charles Baudelaire Imagined Through Music. Additionally, Booth is a respected jazz educator and appears frequently across North America as a guest artist-educator. She serves on the faculty at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music in the Jazz & Commercial Music Program, teaching jazz composition, arranging, and jazz piano. In 2023, she and business partner Alan Baylock launched Brava Jazz Publishing, the only publishing outlet of its kind dedicated to providing a platform for women composers and arrangers in jazz.
