Join us for this very special, one-time evening with the Dred Scott Trio. In a celebration of Scott’s 60th birthday, the band will be celebrating the music of the iconic players that inspire them: from giants of the piano such as Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Keith Jarrett, to the inimitable style of drummer Jack DeJohnette and the recordings he made with the ECM label. This trio will also feature original music as well, highlighting Scott’s distinctive compositional voice in his Nocturne debut! Scott will be joined by Denver favorites Mike Marlier (drums) and Patrick McDevitt (bass).

An iconoclastic entertainer, the incomparable renegade pianist Dred Scott is known for his playful and stylistically diverse repertoire and penchant for covering pop tunes. Dred has been based in NYC for 23 years. As a dynamic player and composer, Dred has recorded 13 albums as a leader and has performed on over 50 others. Notably with Anthony Braxton, Cecil McBee, Andrew Cyrille, Joe Morello, Charlie Hunter, Bob Mintzer, Dave Samuels, Don Byron, Paul McCandless and Marshal Crenshaw. His new release, The Pacific Jazz Group, on Ropeadope Records hit the streets in June of 2023. His next album, Cali Mambo, inspired by the George Shearting/Cal Tjader collaborations of the 1950’s will be out May 2024 also on Ropeadope.
