Interview: Kassa Overall
KUVO program director Shane German chats with drummer Kassa Overall.
Kassa Overall is a Grammy-nominated musician, emcee, singer, producer and drummer who melds avant-garde experimentation with hip-hop production techniques to tilt the nexus of jazz and rap in unmapped directions.
His latest release ANIMALS features an impressive roster of guest artists like Nick Hakim, Laura Mvula, Danny Brown, Shabazz Palaces, Vijay Iyer, and Theo Croker to name a few, and he is currently on tour opening for Digable Planets for their 30th Anniversary Tour of their landmark debut album Reachin’.
Kassa Overall and Digable Planets will be playing in Denver at the Odgen Theater on Tuesday, January 30 at 8 p.m.
