Denver pianist Ron LeGault is versatile and accomplished, performing in a variety of settings, including ensembles, solo, big band and accompanying vocalists. He has a style that’s a bit of funk, some Harlem stride, a touch of George Shearing, with a nod to the be-boppers. Featured compositions are from Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Duke Ellington, other composers from the Great American Songbook, as well as select jazz standards.
Ron LeGault’s Quintet performs regularly at Hotel St. Julien and Caffe Sole in Boulder with Andrew Vogt on sax, Curtis Fox on trombone, Dave Weinand on bass, and Andreas Schmid on drums. Guest artists have included Mark Diamond, Ron Bland, Wilson Winner, Bob Montgomery. John Mills, Al Hermann, Todd Reid, Kevin Smith, Andy Salas, Matthew Floyd, Carl Schultz, Jill Frederickson, Don Elwood, Chris Lee, Scott Simon, Brianna Harris, Dirk Dickson, Rob Dando, Peter Knudson, Joe Chisholm, and Max Wagner.
