6 x 2 x 4: Double Guitar Quartet | Tuesdays

Guitarists Tim Wendel and Khabu Doug Young bring their individual styles together in order to highlight the rich compositional canon for modern jazz guitar.  The eclectic mix of pieces this ensemble draws from includes compositions from some of the world’s greatest guitarists including: Bill Frisell, Nguyen Le, Ben Monder, Marc Ducret, Tonhino Horta, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Serge Lazarevitch.  In collaboration with bassist Patrick McDevitt and drummer Dru Heller, this quartet both honors the spirit of each composition and seeks to find original improvisational paths through the seminal pieces they perform to make them a bit their own.
