In the Studio

KUVO Jazz wraps up Jazz Appreciation Month with its Spring Membership Campaign, and you will be treated to even more LIVE music. Because, after all, Jazz is LIVE!

During this Spring Pledge Drive (Thursday, April 26 through Friday, May 4), we’ll spotlight recordings made in KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio (from an archive of around 1,200 sessions!), and from Blue Note clubs around the world, jazz venues in the Northwest US, and past International Jazz Day recordings.

The KUVO Studio Club welcomes the Aaron Walker Quartet on Friday, April 20 at 11:15am to noon, as they perform their own Bohemian style of jazz music. The quartet comprises of Aaron Walker on lead guitar with Luke Smith on rhythm guitar, Gary Sloan on stand-up bass and Joe d'Esposito. Guitarist Bjorn Thoroddsen will be playing instead of Joe d'Esposito.

Robert Johnson & The Mark Diamond Trio

Apr 12, 2018

The KUVO Studio Club welcomes Robert Johnson and the Mark Diamond Trio to the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio on Monday, April 30 at 5pm. This band was initially created for a residency at the jazz club Nocturne, in Denver, CO.  The performances were so successful, enjoyed by both the audience and band members alike, that the band decided to continue performing together. Scott Martin on piano, Russ Meissner on drums, and Mark Diamond on bass, form the foundation for the amazing vocals of Robert Johnson, who was a member of Stevie Wonder's band for five years.
