I hope you join us for the taping of our Christmas show to be aired on Christmas Eve during The Nightside with Andy O' which we will call  "The Nightside Before Christmas" It will be live Poetry and JAZZ in celebration of the holiday.

Tune to KUVO in Sunday night August 27 at 8pm to midnight as Andy delves into the new album by Drummer Matt Wilson. "Honey and Salt" which received 5 stars from Downbeat. It's Poetry inspired Jazz at its finest with a stellar line up of musicians.

All the words on the album, be they song lyrics or spoken words were written by the Pulitzer prize-winning former Poet Laureate of the United States Carl Sandburg; and features recitations by Jazz Musicians; Christian McBride, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Carla Bley, Joe Lovano and Rufus Reid and actor comedian Jack Black.

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper named the state's eighth poet laureate Tuesday, Joseph Hutchison.

After the Columbine High School shooting, Catherine O'Neill-Thorn put her poetry curriculum to work, giving the otherwise traumatized students a voice, a creative outlet.  O'Neill-Thorn now leads Art from Ashes, a 10-year old organization that works directly youth facing difficult life circumstances "through creative expression and personal transformation," including poetry and spoken word performance.
