This special June series explores and celebrates the classic and contemporary soul-jazz repertoire of the great organ trios. Important and historic collaborations were forged in the 1960s between organists and guitarists, and several iconic guitarists such as Wes Montgomery, George Benson, and Pat Martino launched their recording careers in this format. This classic sound lived on through the acid jazz of the 1970s to the retro funk of the 90s.

Featuring: Ken Walker-bass, Dave Corbus-guitar, Al Hood-trumpet, Paul Romaine-drums, Jeff Jenkins-piano, and Peter Sommer-sax

Jeff Jenkins, Mike Abbott and Paul Romaine are thrilled to be paying tribute to the great jazz guitarist and composer John Abercrombie. Stemming from personal and professional relationships with John, this trio brings the intimate sound of John's compositions to light. This organ trio will serve as a platform for his voice to continue to be heard, and to continue to breathe into the future.
