We close out New Music Monday for 2015 with our annual Holiday Music edition on Lunchtime at the Oasis. We’re very pleased to have received the new Count Basie Orchestra A Very Swingin’ Basie Christmas which is the debut of the ghost band’s new director, Scotty Barnhart. Invited guests include Ellis Marsalis who will be peforming at Baur’s in Downtown Denver, Thursday December 10th, Plas Johnson and Johnny Mathis. Another new for the season release that will surely be a popular recording is trumpeter/educator Etienne Charles, from Trinidad island in the Caribbean, Creole Christmas, a tropical delight for the Winter holidays.

Also on the holiday menu are new CDs by Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, Wrap This,  Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis-Big Band Holidays,  the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra’s Joyful Jazz featuring the amazing octogenarian Freddy Cole sounding as good as ever, the always swingin’ Barbara Dennerlein returns with Christmas Soul. Along with the aforementioned we’ll debut some other new holiday releases to complete the hour that begins at Noon—-Rocky Mountain time.

New Music Monday will resume debuting the latest arrival for 2016 in mid-January. Happy Holidays!
