A Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie! | July 22

Please join the Gift of Jazz in a very special Centennial Concert Series performance on Saturday, July 22 at 4pm; the features trumpet virtuoso, Brad Goode, accompanied by the always hard-swingin’ 18 piece Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, paying tribute to the life and music of bebop trumpet legend, Dizzy Gillespie.

The 4pm concert will be proceeded by a beer & wine tasting starting at 2:30 at Historic Grant Avenue, 216 So. Grant Street, Denver CO.

The Gift of Jazz presents A Blind Tiger Event: A Tribute to Thelonius Monk featuring Spherio. An afternoon of delicious fare, libations & music! At the Gift of Jazz’s next Blind Tiger event, the first in our Centennial Concert Series, we’ll celebrate the life and music of the jazz pianist/composer Thelonious Monk. Count on an afternoon of swingin’ jazz accompanied by delicious food and libations. The music and overview of Monk’s contribution to jazz will be presented by Spherio, with Tenia Nelson (p), Andreas Schmid (d), Bob Songster (b) and Eric Jordan (ts).

A Blind Tiger Tribute to Chet Baker | Dec 11

At the Gift of Jazz’s next Blind Tiger event, on Sunday, December 11 - 3 to 6pm, the life and music of the jazz legend trumpeter/vocalist Chet Baker will be celebrated. You can count on an afternoon of swingin’ jazz accompanied by delicious food and libations at the historic Denver Woman’s Press Club located at 1325 Logan St, Denver.

This tribute to Chet Baker will feature Terri Jo Jenkins (vocals) and David Froman (trumpet) will be accompanied by an outstanding rhythm section comprised of: Jeff Jenkins on piano, Ken Walker on bass and Mike Marlier on drums.

The Gift of Jazz presents The Gift of Jazz Collective, a free summer concert series supported in part by The Next Stage Now. Performances will take place at The Galleria at Denver Performing Arts Complex from 3PM until 5 on July the 15th, 23rd, and 30th.

Join Gift of Jazz as they celebrate the release of trumpeter Gabriel Mervine's debut recording as a bandleader of The Gabriel Mervine Quartet. It will be an afternoon of food, libations, and swingin' jazz on the patio of the historic Capitol Hill Mansion. Seating is limited.
