Meet the indomitable Dolores Huerta, who tirelessly led the fight for racial and labor justice alongside César Chávez, becoming one of the most defiant - and unheralded - feminist activists of the 20th century and she continues to fight to this day. An important activist of our time, Dolores Huerta was an equal partner in founding the first farm workers union with César Chávez.

The theme of the 16th Annual celebration is “Let’s Build Bridges, Not Walls” to honor the many working class families, and cross sectional & immigrants whose lives are being threatened by regressive immigration policies and who currently live in fear and apprehension of deportation.

This Saturday marks the 15th anniversary of the Cesar Chavez March in Denver.  Ramon Del Castillo from the Cesar Chavez Peace and Justice Committee of Denver called in to the "First Take with Lando and Chavis" morning show to discuss Chavez's legacy, and this year's honorees.

"We keep people motivated throughout the year, and we try to get into schools to educate youth about the work Cesar Chavez has done," said Del Castillo.

This Saturday, March 28, 2015 marks the 14th annual Cesar Chavez Day March.  A founder of the sponsoring Cesar E. Chavez Peace and Justice Committee of Denver, Dr. Ramon Del Castillo visited "First Take with Lando and Chavis" to preview the events and share his despedida (farewell poem).
