University of Northern Colorado-Greely

Colorado’s Front Range, from Fort Collins to Colorado Spring is fortunate to have an abundance of marvelous jazz musicians and an amazing array of jazz education programs with highly qualified instructors. One of the brightest spots on the map is the University of Northern Colorado at Greely which boasts an excellent faculty and talented students. Their annual jazz festival brings some of the most prestigious names of jazz to conduct workshops and play alongside the students and faculty musicians.

Adonis Puentes’ rich, soulful voice is the perfect front for his all-acoustic orchestra, layering traditional Cuban rhythms with deep bass lines, jazzy horn arrangements and his melodic guitar.

Born into a musical family and a life-long artist, Puentes’ 2014 album was nominated for World Music Album of the Year at the Juno Awards.

We’ll even have a dance floor available so you don’t feel tied to your seat, and you don’t need to speak Spanish to enjoy this show — music and dance are the international languages of joy!
