Crate divers unite!  Saturday, April 22, 2017 marks the 10th annual "Record Store Day," conceived in 2007 by a few independent record store owners and employees.  The owner of Denver's Twist and Shout Paul Epstein shared plans for this year's celebration with Arturo Gómez on his mid-day radio show, "Lunchtime at the Oasis."

From the moment he opens his show with the gleeful announcement that it is "Lunchtime at the Oasis!" it's clear: Arturo Gómez is the best — and happiest — voice on Colorado's airwaves. Each weekday afternoon from 12 to 1pm, the disc jockey lays down classic-, modern- and Latin-jazz cuts, peppered with his own deep knowledge of musicians' backstories and the history behind each track. The award-winning music director's influence and experience can be heard all over KUVO's many genre-bending shows.

In addition to jazz clubs and music schools, acclaimed young pianist Emmet Cohen included KUVO in his Colorado tour.  Here's a segment of his performance interview on "Lunchtime at the Oasis" with host Arturo Gomez.

While in Colorado Cohen held classes at Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. "The Way I've learned to teach is to show my love for it and show the joy it can bring me; and the uplifting it can bring to people of all kinds, old people, young people, children or people of different countries."
