Two live performances on International Jazz Day

Big Panic Big Band

Wednesday, April 30 is International Jazz Day. At KUVO, we'll be airing 2 live performances from the Phyllis A Greer Performance Studio.

At 5pm, the Rich Chiaraluce Quintet  Rich Chiaraluce - alto sax; Al Hood - trumpet; Dave Hanson - piano; Ken Walker - bass; Todd Reid - drums   Rich is a highly respected sideman and educator in town.  Most of his band comes from the Jazz faculty at DU's Lamont School of Music (except for Todd, who teaches at CU-Denver).

And at 7pm,  The Big Panic Big Band - Gary LeFrancois - drummer and leader Formerly known as the "Buddy Project Big Band". They specialize in charts and music made famous by the volcanic Buddy Rich Big Band and they feature many players who perform with the great Metropolitan and Ultraphonic Jazz Orchestras.
