Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center presents “Real Women Have Curves” March 12-29, exploring the universal challenges faced by women.

Set in an East Los Angeles sewing factory in 1987, this play uncovers the struggles faced by five Latina sweatshop workers, including love, money and body image. In doing so, “Real Women Have Curves” also examines the dreams and aspirations of women who live on the margins of society and don’t fit into the mold of society’s ideal woman.

“Real Women Have Curves” was the first full-length play written by successful playwright Josefina Lopez and is based on Lopez’s own experience in her sister’s sewing factory in Los Angeles.

“Real Women Have Curves” has been produced around the country and was the basis for the hit film of the same title, featuring America Ferrera in the lead role as well as George Lopez and Lupe Ontiveros

Don’t miss this performance full of humor, intellect and charm!

“Real Women Have Curves” runs March 12-29, 2015, Thursday-Saturdays at 7:30 with a special matinee performance Sunday March 29. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased by calling 303-296-0219 or online here
