Review of Bill Hill and Friends from Opus Colorado. "There are musicians and ensembles of that caliber here in Colorado, and one of them is the jazz quintet Bill Hill and Friends (plus 1, which really makes it a sextet). All of the musicians in this small collection are superb. All of them have years of performance experience, all of them have (and this is critical) years of listening to each other, and all of them have years of experience of responding to each other in the group without ego or arrogance, but with complete devotion to the art of music. It is clear that they view themselves as a cohesive group dedicated to presenting the art of music to the best of their ability, and that is what establishes them as a world-class ensemble. I have, in the past, compared them not only to other jazz ensembles, but to classical ensembles as well."
This performance will make Rich Chiaraluce's third visit in just a few weeks. He is scheduled to perform with the Brad Leali Big Band on Friday, May 16th at 2:30pm as part of the Five Points Jazz Festival. The festival is a free event this Saturday, May 17th! Music, food, beer and fun -- a Welton Street party!
