New Music Monday: Hotter Than July

It's been hot lately, this week's edition of Lunchtime at the Oasis-New Music Monday will match the heat outside with some remarkable releases to debut. The veteran vocalist Barbara Morrison teams with Houston Person's quartet for a varied session highlighting the versatility of Ms. Morrison, I Love You, Yes I Do. Cyrus Chestnut is back with his trio, Midnight Melodies . Another  spotlight falls on Chicago trumpeter and educator Orbert Davis leading the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in their tribute to Miles Davis and Gil Evans' classic, Sketches of Spain.  We will also premiere the all female big band-Diva with their guests Nancy Wilson and Marlena Shaw recorded live in NYC and Pittsburgh, A Swingin' Life lives up to its title. We'll conclude the hour with other recent arrivals starting at Noon, Mile High City time!
